Ingram Returns to Florence, Patriot Joins the Ranks
FLORENCE, S.C.- The Florence RedWolves and head coach Travis Graves announced the addition of two left-handed arms in Kolton Ingram and Garrett Wilson, for the 2017 summer campaign. Ingram will be returning for his second season with the RedWolves, while Wilson embarks on his first summer collegiate baseball endeavor.
Kolton Ingram rejoins the Red and Black, coming in at 5-9, 145 pounds. The left-handed pitcher out of Columbus State University is a sophomore with the Cougars and is doing exceptionally well.
Ingram is a Hampton, Georgia native that played for the RedWolves in the 2016 season. The lefty held a 2-3, 6.75 ERA record pitching 25.1 innings, in seven appearances and six starts.
Through his first 10 appearances and 3 starts with the Cougars, Ingram holds a solid 3-1 record with two saves and an impressive 0.95 ERA in 28.1 innings thrown. Ingram is holding opponents to just a .161 batting average, relenting just two extra base hits to this point.
Accompanying Ingram and the rest of the RedWolves roster this summer will be another left-handed pitcher in Garrett Wilson. Wilson is a 5-11, 160 pound freshman spending his time with the Francis Marion University Patriots. Being that the RedWolves’ home is Sparrow Stadium, Wilson is already acclimated with the pitcher’s park.
An early signee in 2016, the Whiteville, North Carolina native chose to be with the Patriots coming out of South Columbus High School. There the left-hander earned Best Offensive Award, while also earning the 2015 Perfect Game Underclass Honorable Mention.
Though 11 appearances and 5 starts with Francis Marion, Wilson is 4-2 with a 4.54 ERA, having struck out 16 batters in 35.2 innings of work.
Head coach Travis Graves said, “Kolton and Garrett both will have the potential to be starters for us this summer and work in relief as well. Both are left-handed pitchers that throw three pitches for strikes and keep hitters off balance. They add a lot of depth to our pitching chart and will play a major role on the mound for us this summer.”
The Florence RedWolves get their 2017 campaign underway May 30th, traveling to take on the Wilmington Sharks before returning home the following night, Wednesday, May 31st, to battle the Lexington County Blowfish. It will be our Home Opening Night and Magnet Schedule Giveaway, where the first 750 fans will receive a RedWolves magnet schedule courtesy of Carolina’s Hospital Systems.

Host families provide room and board for a college player from the end of May through mid-August each year.
